Utah Trip

Twenty-five years ago Jason spent a semester at the Jerusalem Center. This weekend we flew to Utah to hang out with some of the cohort he went over with. This also happened to be the first trip we have taken alone in the 19 years we've been married.

We're not going to wait another 19 years to do that.

Also, next time we won't have pneumonia and long-covid. It turns out those two conditions really pack a punch at high elevations in very low humidity. We made some poor choices on our first day of choosing drive up to Brighton (lovely) and around the mountains (lovely) at a much higher elevation than where we live (not so lovely).

We did a short hike around the lake at Brighton.

And then drove around the Wasatch Mountains.

After our high(er)-altitude adventures triggered breathing difficulties, we stayed in the Salt Lake area. We bought tickets to a Van Gogh immersive show at the art museum. While waiting for that to start we found this Lego cathedral and an artsy piano.

The next day we visited the planetarium to watch a 3D IMAX and planetarium show. I found a new buddy but they wouldn't let me take her home.

Jason weathered a tornado.

And we discovered that we are a hot couple!

And that the world does bend to Jason's will.

It was lovely to get away. I've already got ideas for our next trip.
