The Seely Farm, which we have visited several times while we have lived here, was the site this evening for a party for Michael's church class. We love the farm. The spread was amazing and delicious. The kids played and ran around like crazy. The bug spray was flowing. We had a great time. However, it was very hot. So after the kids were dripping with sweat from chasing down the peacock and other farm animals, the Seelys turned on the sprinklers and the kids had the greatest time playing in the water. It was fun to see the complete abandon of children playing outdoors in the country on the summer evening. And if all this wasn't enough, there was a campfire with s'mores. My kids were only interested in the marshmallows - burning and/or eating them. But then again, why would you ruin a perfectly good marshmallow with chocolate and graham crackers? To finish off a perfect evening, the fireflies were out tonight and the boys caught some and chased them around our yard before we corralled them into the bathtub.
